It is suited for measuring tasks in production, receiving inspection and testing as well as for final checks. The centring happens automatically in the bore, the base being formed by the centring plate. The wider the centring basis the more reliable the device will be centred in the bore. Utmost accuracy, repeatability max. 0.0005 mm, transmission error 0.0025 mm. During the measuring operation the reversal point has to be defined. This is done by oscillating of the device around the rigid measuring bolt. In doing so, the minimum value point automatically is passed through, where the axis of the measuring device is exactly vertical to the bore axis. On a mechanical display unit this will clearly be seen by the pointer´s change of direction. Using digital display units a minimum value memory will be helpful.
