GBP 57 INFORMATION RELATING TO EYE PROTECTION Standards: In Europe, safety glasses, like all other items of personal protective equipment, are subject to PPE Directive 2016/425 (category 2). The central standard in the field of the safety glasses was EN 166. In November 2024, the new eye protection standard EN ISO 16321 was introduced. Certificates issued in accordance with the old EN 166 are still valid until their respective expiry date, while the tests of EN ISO 16321 can already be used for new certifications. Products certified according to both the new and old standard will therefore soon be available on the market. Information and reference codes for the new eye protection standard EN ISO 16321 can be found on the next pages 30/31.
