In some countries e.g. Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and in Germany this is mandatory according to the applicable guidelines. In other countries such as France, Spain and Belgium, the Fit-Test is mandatory when handling certain substances. Different movements are performed during the Fit-Test. A particle counter measures the number of particles in the ambient air and within the mask. These values are compared and the ratio calculated.
