GBP 57 Grinding and polishing points GARANT / LUKAS / PFERD grinding points (OSA certified and tested to DIN EN 12 413) are specially designed for hardness, bonding, grit type, and grit size for the specific applications and cover a very wide application range. Precise radial run-out ensures vibration-free working, which is good for the operator, machine, and workpiece. GARANT grinding points are generally suitable for edge and surface grinding and are characterised by very high material removal rates, long service life, and consistent surface finish quality of the workpiece. GARANT polishing points are characterised by long service life and quick production of fine, even surface finishes. Finest polishing grades or surfaces right up to mirror finish can be achieved, depending on the version used. GARANT polishing points can be profiled using dressing sticks. + + Abrasive media Pink Standard Mixed Mixed Mixed Silicon carbide Alum. oxide / Polishing felt Polishing felt Diamond aluminium oxide aluminium oxide alum. oxide alum. oxide alum. oxide SiC polishing rubber with grinding with diamond polishing points AR AN AW-AN AD-AW AW-CER compound compound Brand 55 0100 – 55 0310 / 55 1940 – No. 55 1600 55 1700 55 0305 55 1780 55 1850 – 55 1922 55 2250 55 2330 55 1200 55 1510 55 1943 Low-alloy steel ● ○ ○ ● ● ● ● ○ ● Stainless steel ○ ● ○ ○ ● ● ● ● ○ ● High-alloy steel ○ ● ○ ○ ● ● ● ● ● ○ ● Cast (grey temp.) ○ ○ ● ○ ○ ○ ○ ● ○ ● Tempered steel ○ ○ ○ ● ● ○ ○ ○ ○ ● ● Steel hardened ○ ○ ● ● ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ● ● Titanium alloys / ● ● ● ● ● nickel alloys Alu / NF metals ● ● ● ● ● ○ ● Grit coarse coarse coarse fine fine fine coarse medi- fine fine very fine very fine (24 – 60 grit)* (24 – 46 grit) (30 grit) (100 grit) (80 grit) (80 grit) (80 um (220 (55 2250_150) up to polishing right through to fine grit) (120 grit) very fine gloss polishing 55 Degree of hardness (46 – 100 grit) medium soft medium medium soft soft grit) soft resilient (55 2250_280) very soft very soft soft resilient Binding ceramic Artificial resin ceramic ceramic ceramic ceramic soft rubber – – PU Recommended cutting speed 30 – 50 40 – 50 40 – 50 10 – 30 30 – 50 25 – 40 10 – 15 5 – 10 1–3 1–2 v in m/s Use Grinding Grinding Grinding Fine grinding, Grinding Grinding Fine grinding Polishing Polishing Polishing deburring, (not for edges right through to edge or rough surfaces!) high-gloss grinding polishing *) The larger the grinding point, the coarser the grit.
