Shank Tooling System • R8 Shank Tooling R8 Shank Toolholders are designed with a locking groove that aligns into a locking mechanism when inserted into the spindle. A milling machine drawbar bolt pulls the tool into the spindle for a secure connection. If the toolholder assembly is properly balanced and application conditions are appropriate, R8 shanks can operate effectively up to 8,000 RPM. R8 • All non-critical surfaces are black oxide. • Design enables coolant as a standard feature. • Clean components prior to assembly. • To avoid destroying the toolholder, never overtighten toolholders or neglect surface damage.
