All BLACKRUSH inserts feature a new coating technology which contains a special Al2O3 outer layer that maximizes hardness while providing thermal stability, an important consideration when machining cast iron especially at high cutting speeds. Following this alumina coating process, a special surface treatment is applied that greatly reduces friction, cutting force and build-up on the insert cutting edge.
